Corporate Social Responsibility
Bakandamiya strongly believes in community support because development is inherently a collective effort. That is why we take our Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously, and we do that in three major ways.
We directly carry out community development activities and programs; we significantly fund our Foundation to support its community development projects; and we support many organisations and institutions in community projects.
We therefore welcome any invitation for collaboration to support our communities.
Below are some of our community support efforts.
Direct Projects
Gasar Rubutun Makala
Gasar Rubutun Makala is a writing competition prize established under Bakandamiya Encyclopaedia to engineer the generation of well-research scientific and historical contents in the Hausa language. It started January 2026 and it is still ongoing. It comes on the 10th of every month.

Bakandamiya Golden Award
This is a biennial award that recognises the voluntary contributions of individuals to the development of Bakandamiya and Penprofile Group in all areas of their businesses. These individuals include writers, chefs, customers, clients, organisations and the like.
Hikaya Monthly Challenge
Hikaya Monthly Challenge is another writing competition prize run under Bakandamiya Hikaya. The purpose is to inspire critical thinking, literary writing and critiques, with focus on African literature.

Through Our Foundation
Penprofile Group and Bakandamiya have established a non-for-profit arm, Bakandamiya Organisation, dedicated for humanity cause. A significant amount has been set aside annually to support the cause. Learn more about the various projects of the Foundation supported by our company.
Collaboration with other Organisations
We supported many organisations and institutions in community projects.

Northern Writers’ Forum
We collaborated with Northern Writers’ Forum, a creative hub based in Minna, Nigeria on Ladi Kwali Poetry Prize, a literary competition established by NWF to inspire creativity and discover emerging talents.
Ranar Marubutan Hausa
Bakandamiya supported the Ranar Marubutan Hausa ta Duniya 2025 to promote literary creativity in indigenous languages.
